The text is about the image below that paragraph.
Going to watch ‘Vikings: Valhalla‘, I guess I’m into punishment or something.

Within 2 minutes, there are torches everywhere…
Why torches everywhere is wrong?
Read all about that by clicking here.

MANBUN.
Is it authentic?
I’m not sure, I’m so allergic to them, I can’t even research it:

Torches, torches, torches…
Such fun in a little hall like that, having to replace them all the time, also they’re very close to the wooden ceiling above them:

This looks like a medieval themed restaurant for kids where they serve potatoes:

Interesting chair, dear set designer, are you SURE that is 11th century?
Nice fruit bowl:

Ok this is a cool shot, I admit it.
But I’m sure the people in the village they’re about to attack are going to be delighted with these men making themselves stand out long before they arrive:

Village being wiped out is always a good start for any saga:

Oh they’re going to burn a church full of people, of course, sure, why not and… wait, STOP, there is a dog!!
Everybody stop fighting at once, look, he’s not liking this at all.
HE IS A GOOD BOY:

Oh look, they massacred everybody but there in the back the dog is escaping!
And he found a pal!
Phew.
Happy ending after all, this series is better than I thought, Viking dogs escape, great story.
Oh wait, there’s more?

Water, sea, storm, Viking ships, that’s always good.
Glorious shot.
Also, Kattegat in Dutch means Cat’s hole.
Which makes all immature silly people giggle when they see it.
Not me of course, I’m very serious and mature, honest.
Giggle:

That looks nice.
Looks a bit thin that straw layer though:

Ok, it’s just another random creepy guy trying to get a girl undressed, but YAY at least they are talking about hot baths.
What, in the middle ages when nobody ever bathed or even knew what water was? 😉

There’s a lot of brown and dark in the clothes, but the hall looks pretty.
Interesting that they are using many expensive candles… during the day… when the place looks to get enough light from above and those windows:

Ok, I’m all for women warriors and I’m even convinced there were way more than most historians think, but they were probably still not that common and having a bunch of em just burst into the hall to stop a fight like some cops, is a bit much:

BATH TUB.
I’m not obsessed, honest.
More expensive candles, odd side table and jug, nice deep bath.
I want one:

Padded leather headrest on your bath?
No idea if there’s any historical evidence for tubs like that back then, but now I want it even more:

Oh another cute dog with lovely floppy ears and… oh no wait, it’s a viking with a silly hat:

Those clothes, those clasps, that pendant, all so rough and basic.
I’ve shared Viking and early medieval real jewellery and things like that with you lot, you know how precise and detailed some of it was.
This is a rich and powerful man, he could have worn something nicer:

What on earth are these two leather buddies wearing?
These outfits are ridiculous:

I’ve got a challenge for you.
Is there a Viking show or film anywhere ever, that does not have a great feast in it?
They always HAVE to gather in a hall, with drinking and being jolly and eating.
Looks like fun though:

Thank frœyjɑ, it’s over.
Quality/authenticity wise it’s about the same as the Vikings show, so bad and silly.
But the story, so far, is less appealing, at least with the first show I liked Ragnar, Lagertha and Athelstan.
I watched because of them and wanted to see how their story went.
This new one isn’t working for me, at all.
I watched a few more episodes, they’re pretty bad.
Especially the costumes.
In another episode the Vikings take London… they enter through the gate and who do we see there?!!
THE DOGS!!!
I’m almost sure it’s the same dogs.
They ended up in London, the Vikings followed them, but they sneak out the gate when the Vikings arrive!
BEST plot of this show so far:

I won’t be watching any more of this rubbish.
